SnowAngels Samoyeds
Where Samoyeds are honored, loved, enjoyed and shared
Easter - Ch. SnowAngels Flurry's Noreaster
(Nor)Easter is our youngest SnowAngel. Born on July 14, 2008, she is a little girl with a big plan for every day of her life.

By the time her eyes were open....

it was clear that Easter knew two things: 1) she wanted to stay with us, and 2) she was going to make a difference in this world by charming the socks off of everyone. By the time she was 10 weeks old, I agreed with her on both things.

Easter is an "It Girl." She loves anything that involves play. She entertains any entourage, poses for cameras, and heads right for the grooming table as soon as she sees it being set up.  She confident and enthusiastic girl and has an ability to focus that is downright amazing for a Samoyed.

She has proven that she is the SnowAngel's best hole digger (mud and snow holes are her specialties) and the best jumper. The distance between the sofa and bed are her custom-designed (by Easter) agility course.

Easter has beautiful, athletic  movement, great balance of reach and drive, a beautiful head and face, a joyful enthusiasm for working, and a sweetness and joy that you can see in every breath.

Easter loves to move leaves!Easter has inherited the self confidence and beauty of her two grandmothers SnowAngels' "Sarah" and White Magic's "Shaylee."

She has the movement of her grandmothers Snowangel's  Sarah and White Magic's
Shaylee; her mother SnowAngel's Flurry, and her father White Magic's Halo.

And she has the appetite for attention of all of her relatives....put together.

Easter has always liked being front and center but she's smart enough to show respect to her packmates, even as she leads them (usually into trouble).

There's always something to laugh about when Easter's involved. From playing possum with Halo, to "rescuing" houseplants from their pots and hiding all the evidence except the potting soil, to pilfering mail, to flirting with guys, to stealing anything that looks like worth stealing, to tossing toys into the air and batting them across the floor like a cat. We love every minute.

And as an aside.....she actually listens to humans...who have a treat in their hand.....most of the time.

And now that Easter has entered the show ring...
W
e have even more to be excited about, and so does she! Her first weekend in the ring (at 6 months and  3 days old) she earned Best of Winners and 2 points toward her champion title. She proved to be a Sammy that (as one judge said) "brings her handler along for the ride."Thank you judge Alhino! Easters first day in the ring and she earns 2 points!

She's earned Reserve Winners in the PVCS Samoyed Specialty Sweepstakes and Best of Opposite Sex at Chester Valley KC, both before turning 10 months of age.

Easter then took 3rd place in the Puppy Sweepstakes at the 2009 National Samoyed Club Specialty.

Easter earned her title with two Best of Winner ribbons, including a 5-pt major win at the 2009 Antietam Creek Samoyed Specialty.

And Easter is really really really happy now!

Easter had always been a happy girl. The only exception was been when she got left home from a show. Anytime she saw Halo leaving the house without her, she'd let out a yelp that would make you think that she was being stung by a swarm of angry hornets.

Then Easter met Chris Moffett.  It took about 15 minutes and it was clear that they had "fun" in common. Chris just didn't realize that Easter had plans...for him.

A few weeks after their first meeting, Chris (I think half-kiddingly) agreed to take Easter into the show
ring and try it out. The fact that Chris had never handled a show dog before made no difference to anyone. Anyone who knew Easter also knew that she would have Chris trained in no time. And we were right. With very little training, Chris took Easter into the ring and together, they won Best of Opposite Sex to the Best of Breed their very first time around!

Chris and Easter have teamed up for 3 competitions since then, and earned ribbons and points every time. Thanks to Chris, Easter is well on her way to her Grand Champion title. And Easter has a whole new reason to strut her stuff when she looks up and sees who is on the other end of her lead.

Their next great adventure was on February 15th when they were a team at the 2011 Westminster Kennel Club Show in NYC.
