Abraham is one of God's gifts for the human spirit. He really is. Unlike any Samoyed we've ever had, Abraham has a special effect on literally everyone who gets to meet him.
Even those who are afraid of dogs want to get close to him. Abraham's sensitivity is amazing. He is a grounding rod, and an alarm system, and he does it all very subtlely.
Abraham (Abraham Austin Wilkinson) was born in 2001. He embodies the beauty, dignity, sensitivity, wisdom, respectfulness, and gentle leadership of an ideal male Samoyed, and he offers it freely to anyone who proves to him that they really want access to it. He's an "old soul."
Abraham is the only motivation you’d ever need to wake up every morning, or come home directly from work every night. He knows what he wants, and when he senses that you and he agree, he rewards you accordingly- whether its with quiet nuzzles, the offer of his belly to rub, or puppy-like enthusiasm, joy, and wonder.
That said, Abraham has never been remotely interested any of the lights, cameras or action of life outside of the Wilkinson household- he rarely barks at squirrels or cats, or anything that might cause other Sams to turn into barking kangaroos. He gets his contentment from snuggling with us (including the other SnowAngels).
The only exception is when he is attached to a sled (or any human who is willing to act like one). When asked to pull, Abraham turns into a magnificant, efficient, focused pulling machine. You can see the joy he feels radiating all around him.
We purchased Abraham as a "pet" puppy and had him neutered. While he’s never helped to create any puppies, when Sarah and Flurry had their puppies, he was the ideal surrogate father. When Flurry had her puppies, Abe was just as wonderful. He is always kind, gentle, and patient. And he was always sensitive to Sarah’s and Flurry's wishes. And he LOVES Easter!
