People
I've shared my life with Samoyeds for over 30 years. Family, friends and neighbors are fans of the furballs too and help take care of them.
Philosophy
I believe that Samoyeds are gifts from God and should be honored, respected, loved and shared with the world.

As each of our Samoyeds has gone to Heaven, I have chosen to honor their lives by increasing my commitment my next Samoyed.
I believe that I am here to care for them in ways that honor their heritage, respect their unique needs, and allow other people to share in the joy and love each of wants to give to others.
In return, I have had the benefit of learning so much about happiness and peace from our SnowAngels, and hopefully, have picked up a little of God's grace along the way.
In these Samoyeds, I see enthusiasm, joy, wonder, stength, intelligence, curiosity, respect, courage, humor, resilience, confidence, loyalty, determination, peacefulness, gratefulness, tenderness and unconditional love. Being stewards of these precious animals allows me to see God at work every time I look into their eyes, and every time I see the smiles on the faces of the people they meet.
Daily Life
I live in the middle of a city, so I've become creative at providing them with what they need. I do structured running and show ring practice with each pooch most mornings and evenings. Most often, runs are done the old fashioned way.....1 leash, 1 poop bag 1 dog and 1 person. But I now have a small scooter on loan that we use on cool-weather weekends to simlulate sled-pulling. We hook one dog up off we go!
I don’t have an outside kennel so the yard is their playground. Re-soding and re-seed is constant, but the pooches are generally respectful of the landscaping...unless there’s a slow squirrel, rabbit or misguided cat that wanders into
their yard.
In the spring, summer and fall months, we participate in local conformation shows, charity fund-raising, and animal awareness events. You can see the results of those activities on
Sarah,
Flurry,
Halo, and
Easter's pages.
Halo,
Sarah and
Flurry are also certified therapy dogs through the
Pets on Wheels of Central Maryland. On weekends and evenings, we visit hospitals, retirement, elder care and hospice facilities, schools, and community organizations, and help people who are in pain, depression, or grief. Halo and Sarah work wonders! It is the most rewarding work we do together.
In the winter....
ahhh....the winter......
we run, hike, and visit
Marge Goodenough’s farm in Myersville, MD for sledding. There's nothing that makes a Samoyed go bonkers more than the sights of snow, a harness, Mom or Dad dressed for the snow, a sled, or scooter.
Our Goals for 2010
First and foremost....is always to have happy, healthy Samoyeds, and to share them with others.
My next goal for the year was achieved when I learned that
Halo secured a position into the
Westminster Kennel Club show for the second year in a row. We had a wonderful time and hope to go back again next year.
Our second goal was reached when we showed
Easter earned her Champion title on April 25, 1010 with a 5-point major win of Winners Bitch and Best of Winners at the Antietam Creek Samoyed Specialty held in conjunction with the Old Dominion Kennel Club All Breed show. Thanks goes to Samoyed breeder and judge Kathleen Ronald!
I am working toward AKC Good Canine Citizen Program awards for
Flurry,
Halo and
Easter by the end of 2010.
We will also continue to participate in community and charitable events where we can include the SnowAngels.
